FAQ

Questions People Usually Ask Before We Build Anything.

Direct answers about pricing, websites, automation, hosting, ownership, and whether your strange business problem is too strange. It probably is not.

PRICING

How much does a website cost?

A simple starter website begins at $500 plus $75 per month. Custom systems generally begin around $2,000 and go up based on what they need to do. I quote the actual scope before work starts.

PRICING

Are you the cheapest option?

No. If the only goal is the lowest possible price, a do-it-yourself builder is probably a better fit. I am useful when the site needs to work well, connect to real processes, or grow beyond a few static pages.

PROCESS

How does a project start?

You explain the business and the problem. I ask questions, map the workflow, define what should be built, and give you a clear scope and price. No forty-slide discovery presentation required.

PROCESS

How long does it take?

A basic site may take a few weeks. A custom portal, dashboard, or automated workflow takes longer. The timeline depends on complexity, content, integrations, and how quickly decisions get made.

CONTENT

Do I need to provide all the copy?

No. Existing photos, logos, and service information help, but I can organize the message and write clear copy based on how the business actually works.

WEBSITES

How is this different from Wix or WordPress?

Those tools are fine for simple sites. I build custom systems when the business needs more control, less plugin clutter, better performance, or functionality that does not fit inside a page builder.

WEBSITES

Will it work on a phone?

Yes. Most customers will see the site on a phone first, often while distracted, in a truck, or standing somewhere inconvenient. Mobile use is part of the build, not an afterthought.

AUTOMATION

What can be automated?

Lead capture, intake, reminders, approvals, notifications, reports, invoices, status updates, file collection, and data moving between systems. Repeated manual work is the first place to look.

AUTOMATION

Can you connect tools we already use?

Often, yes. If the existing system has an API, export, database, email workflow, or some other usable connection point, there may be a practical way to integrate it.

PORTALS

What is a customer portal?

A secure area where customers can submit requests, upload files, view status, approve work, make payments, or access information without everything happening through phone calls and scattered email.

HOSTING

Do you provide hosting and support?

Yes. Managed hosting, monitoring, backups, updates, and ongoing support are available so the site does not become another neglected piece of equipment nobody owns.

HOSTING

Are there backups?

Yes. Systems fail eventually. Backups and recovery planning exist so a failure becomes an inconvenience instead of an obituary.

SECURITY

How is data protected?

With established password hashing, HTTPS, server-side permissions, limited access, controlled secrets, sensible data collection, and backups. No security theater, and no claim that anything connected to the internet is magically invincible.

OWNERSHIP

Who owns everything?

Ownership, access, hosting, and support are defined clearly before work begins. The goal is not to trap your business behind mystery credentials or hold the domain hostage.

SEARCH

Do you help with SEO?

Yes, at the practical level: clean structure, useful content, titles, metadata, mobile performance, local business information, and the listings that help search engines understand who you are and where you work.

FIT

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

Service companies, trades, restaurants, nonprofits, local businesses, and organizations with a real process behind the website. Field-service and operationally messy businesses are especially familiar territory.

PLANNING

What if I do not know what I need?

That is normal. Tell me what is frustrating, what keeps getting missed, and what takes too much time. You do not need to arrive with the software architecture already designed.

HONESTY

Will you tell me if I do not need custom software?

Yes. If an existing product solves the problem better and cheaper, I would rather tell you than build an expensive replacement for something that already works.

No matching question.

That may mean you found a genuinely weird one. Excellent.
